Quality and Handling Assessment

The UK industry associations, through their own projects and participation in industry supported projects at the European level (CAOBISCO/ECA), have contributed their expertise to research to understand the factors involved in the occurrence and control of natural and agricultural contaminants and post-harvest factors that affect the quality of the cocoa. As independent bodies, these organisations are well placed to ensure that research can be undertaken to ensure that grading and handling of cocoa in commerce is based on the parameters which reflect the requirements of manufacturers.
